Have started school again. V. busy so haven’t had time to compile a list of things I love. Look out for a delayed one on the weekend.

To compensate for the time being, I give you this:

Designers Get Turned Into Disney Characters In This Elle Spain Editorial.

It is beyond awesome. My two favourite things: disney cartoons and fashion. And they just seem so appropriate too! Definitely made my day.

Hope it puts a smile on your face!

drawing

A drawing I did these holidays. Paper and pen, then coloured with Inkscape. It’s a little rough; it was my first time using Inkscape. The drawing was just a quick sketch while watching telly. ūüôā

Things I love Thursday

April 8, 2010

Theses holidays sure have gone fast. Only a measly 4 days until school starts again.

1. The eds in 25 magazine. Gorgeous models + Illustrations.

2. Easter chocolates. And admiration for Megan. These are REAL eggs with REAL chocolate. The instructions alone intimidate me. Do you dare try?

3. Lots of time. Lots of patience. Lots of people. Lots of stick-notes. This video is like corner-of-book-flip-animation on steroids.

4. Going to karaoke for a friend’s birthday. It’s the first time I’ve been to a karaoke place. I’m usually a no-singing-for-me person. My voice is all croaky now. V. fun though.

Header

April 7, 2010

There have been changes to the blog. No longer is there the generic theme header on top, but a custom one! It was a little rushed, so I might tweak it later.

What do you guys think?

Created with pen and paper, then rearranged and coloured with gimp. (Am too poor for photoshop.)

PS. I find it quite ironic that the word ‘blog’ has a red squiggly line underneath it.

Home, Sweet Home

April 6, 2010

Am finally back from Sydney.

It was so much fun! Much better than the last time I was there. Definitely would want to go again. We stayed at a friend’s house; it was ultra-cool and modern. Had a great city view and very amusing to hear the drunks (badly!) singing Lady Gaga.

The restaurants were delicious (not as good as Melbourne though ;)) Would highly recommend Essenza Italian in Surry Hills. It was Earth Hour so we sat in the courtyard, eating by candlelight. It was very sweet. I was so stuffed; no room left for dessert, which was a shame.

I don’t know about sitting there everyday watching the ships come in, but the view is definitely to-die-for.

outfit post?

Was definitely not expecting the ocean spray (you can see it in the bottom left). I actually got quite wet, but it was a-ok as it was so sunny. Just look at that sky! So, no, this isn’t some random pose, but it works well since my face is obscured. And, no, that is NOT my hat.

the utzon room

I loved this painting. Gorgeous. Huge. Colourful. I want this in my room!

holiday nails

Holidays are the only time I get to paint my nails. It was actually a darker purple and my toenails were blue. In case you were wondering, the white fluffy stuff is seat covering in the car; I was bored.

This is a picture taken facing straight down. V. v. v. STEEP! I didn’t go down due to lack of time and fear of not being able to get up again. (More so the latter than the former).

three sisters view

Simply breathtaking. I was honestly expecting something like Mt. Dandenong so was pleasantly surprised. It was totally worth the one-and-a-half hour drive.

darling harbour night

Look at those pretty lights. Mesmerising.

That’s it folks! My holiday. Now, it’s hardcore homeworking and studying before the school term starts again. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Feel free to comment!

Going on an Adventure

March 26, 2010

I’m going to SYDNEY today!

the harbour city

I am so excited; have not been since I was in Grade 3. My memory of Sydney is quite vague and not very positive. My parents decided that going on a tour bus was the best way to go about the holiday. And so, we all packed into the bus for that long 10 hour trip. Of course, we stopped at all the little towns and Canberra, but it had been before I discovered travel sickness pills and I felt like crap the whole trip.

Like all tour trips (in my opinion) we spent way too long at the boring places, way too long at toilet stops and way too little time at the important places. So, here’s for hoping this trip rectifies our nation’s biggest city.

My mum and I are going by plane. I plan to look over my English books, revise my Latin and memorise my Chinese at the airport. Yep. That’s sooo likely to happen – please note the sarcasm. I’m more likely to be one of the countless people swarming around the magazine stack; love airports and their international glossies. But oh! The prices! I’ll also be the strange girl taking photos of airports and planes like a tourist even though it’s my hometown.

However, I am aiming to be somewhat productive – I have heaps of homework for the holidays but still want to go out and have fun. To quote a friend: “This holiday will be like a study-release period on steroids.”

I’m told the trip will be around 1 1/2 hours; beats that stuffy hellish 10 hour trip from last time any day. I even did some research! (Not really. It was on the front page of my daily news browsing.) I’m glad to know that panicking and “rummaging through your carry-on to spare your iPhone” is “frowned upon”. (Not that I have one.) Worried that “Planes routinely crash by running out of fuel”. Does the word ‘routinely’ set your heart racing? But luckily, I have a 99.9999815% chance of survival. Wonderful! For more.

I promise to update if I can get onto a computer and lots of photos when I come back.

Things I love Thursday…

March 25, 2010

I’ve always enjoyed reading about other people’s favourites. So, without further ado, the things I love this week:

1. Tights – with autumn and winter rolling round, tights are coming back in full force. Coloured tights. Striped tights. Dotty tights. I die. Although, The Times digresses.

2. Sport + Fashion + Poly + Colour-tipped hair = Perfection

3. These movie quote diagrams. From Flowing Data.

the best movie ever

4. The cast of Louis Vuitton Fall 2010. A bit outdated, but it was really lovely to see a more diverse range of models, especially Elle Macpherson (aged 41) aka. The Body and fellow Aussie. Love her smile, her healthy glow; it made me grin seeing her as the sole face beaming in the cast line-up. (Couldn’t find that picture, so this will do)

5. The fact that it’s Friday tomorrow. Friday = the last day of school = GOING TO SYDNEY! Cannot wait. Hopefully the weather will be slightly cooler. Am itching to get out my warm winter coats, boots and tights. But, it seems as if it’s going to be high 20s for the next few days. I guess I can wait a little longer.
